DESCRIPTION:Nevaris is a band from NYC led by percussionist Agustín Nevaris\, who relocated to State College in 2021. The band brings funk\, dub\, and Afro-Latin grooves to the stage\, with former Fela Kuti drummer Jojo Kuo behind the kit\, alongside breakbeat specialist Lockatron. Agustin Nevaris provides vocals\, congas\, and keys\, pulling from a catalog of four studio albums\, including 2023’s “Reverberations\,” produced by Bill Laswell and described by Carlos Santana as “supreme creativity”. \nJoining them on February 6th at Manny’s is grammy nominated bassist Josh Werner (Lee Perry\, Matisyahu\, James Brandon Trio)\, and grammy nominated multi-instrumentalist Peter Apfelbaum (Hieroglyphics\, Phish\, Don Cherry)\, vocalist Eric Ian Farmer and guitarist Matt Dickey.
