Nevaris is a musician from New York City. He is of Chicano/Mexican American ancestry on his mother’s side, with multi-generational roots in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. He is of European ancestry on his father’s side with multi-generational roots in NYC.
As the leader of his band, Nevaris Project, Nevaris frequently works with a lineup that includes drummers Jojo Kuo (Fela Kuti) and Lockatron, who alternate between manning the drum kit and other percussion instruments. Additionally, Nevaris works frequently with multi-instrumentalist Peter Apfelbaum, vocalist Eric Ian Farmer, guitarists Will Bernard and Matt Dickey, and a rotating lineup of bassists that has included legendary bassist/producer Bill Laswell, Jonathan Maron, and Josh Werner.
